CCU Core Values

1. The Cross of Christ is our message.

The message of the Cross is follosness to the world, but to those of us being saved it is the power of God.

1 Corinthians 1:18, 1 Cornthians 1:23, 1 John 4:10, Romans 5:8

2. Learners Of Christ are our mission.

We believe that people can become learners no matter there age, they are all loved by Jesus. One person at a time, one family at a time, we will continue shining the love, light and life of Jesus into the dark places of our world until all have come to know Him as Lord and Savior.

Isaiah 6:8, Matthew 28:19-20, Luke 15:4-7, Colossians 3:11

3. Honor is our calling.

We show honor with our words, our thoughts and our actions—up, down and sideways. We are thankful for spiritual authority and we joyfully submit to those who God has placed in leadership over us. We faithfully support those God has placed in the trenches beside us. We humbly care for those God has placed under us.

Romans 12:10, Romans 13:7, Hebrews 13:17, 1 Peter 2:17

4. Authenticity is our lifestyle.

We are not perfect. We will neither try to hide that truth, nor will we use it as a crutch. Instead we will choose to be real and live as people of integrity. We realize that progress is more important than perfection, and that God will often use our brokenness to minister to the lives of others. We may not be where we want to be, but we’re committed to moving beyond where we used to be by keeping our arrow pointed in the direction of Jesus and becoming more like Him each day.

Matthew 23:27-28, John 4:24, Romans 12:9, James 2:18

5. Generosity is our identity.

We are generous with our time, talent, treasure and testimony. We do not give to get, nor do we give out of obligation. We go over and above to give out of the overflow of the blessings God has entrusted to us. We choose to give because the God we serve, by His very nature, is a giver.

Malachi 3:10-12, Luke 6:38, 2 Corinthians 9:10-15

6. Servanthood is our posture.

We don’t just consume, we contribute. This is our attitude within the walls of the local church, out in our community and to the ends of the earth. When we see a need, we will do everything we can to meet that need. We realize that we are never more like Jesus than when we serve someone else, so from the stage to the street—and beyond—everyone serves.

Matthew 20:16, Matthew 23:11-12, John 13:14-17

7. Excellence is our pursuit.

We do the best we can with the resources we have. We are on time, we are prepared, and we are engaged. If something is worth doing, then it’s worth us going all in and working at it to the best of our ability.

Ecclesiastes 9:10, Romans 12:6-8, Colossians 3:17

8. God’s heart is our passion.

It is God’s desire for His people to be set apart, righteous and holy. We choose to live our lives in alignment with God and His Word, and we do so unapologetically and with reckless abandon. This is evident in the way we worship, the way we serve others and the way we live in the midst of a society and culture that is often moving in the opposite direction.

Leviticus 19:2, Matthew 6:33, Matthew 22:37-40, Philippians 4:8-9
